J-Teens volunteers made a statement at Chanukah on Ice with their new J-Teens sweatshirts! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make Chanukah on Ice a resounding success.
Vice President of J-Teens, Erica Zaretsky organized a fabulous Chanukah Toy Drive for Children's Hospital. Erica wanted to make sure that the light of Chanukah would spread to light up the long days and nights of Jewish hospitalized kids. J-Teen members brought in new toys which they then gift-wrapped, and made Chanukah cards to go along.
Know how to make a Kosher menorah? J-Teen members do. After learning about the requirements for a Kosher Menorah, they constructed their own wood Menorahs which were ready to light for the first night of Chanukah!
At J-Teens, we didn't just light the menorah, we made our own olive oil, just like it was made in the times of the Maccabees. Taking raw olives, members used an old fashioned olive press to produce olive juice. The juice was then spun in a modern day centrifuge to separate the pure oil.
J-Teens Chanukah activities were capped with a grand Dreidel Tournament. The champion was awarded a Dreidel Tournament Trophy, and all winners recieved great prizes. Champion: Michelle Muskal. First Place: Aaron Ishida. Runner Up: Madison Diamond.
Stay Tuned...for exciting upcoming trips including Basketball Games at Xavier University and UC!
